Amateur photographer; about one year with DSLR (Panasonic Lumix G2K) an two years with iPhone. Wanted to be part of a group of people of similar interest, inspiration and enthusiasm, and I found it at Salem Digital Photograph Group!
Amateur. After a year of shooting DSLR I'm no longer a beginner, but often feel like it. I really need to be around people who are willing to share their knowledge and tips and, if they are generous, point me in the right direction.
As for contribution, I don't have the experience or talent to contribute anything photographically. I'm very good at organizing though. Learning: There isn't room. But right now, I am most interested in macro photography; mastering the use of my camera - what does it do? How does it do that? What on earth is the relationship between fstop and ISO?
24 months of multiple shots per day with my iPhone 3g, then 4g A little over a year of nearly daily use of my Panasonic Lumix G2
Have found myself gravitating to landscapes, but enjoy shooting flowers (actually parts of flowers), anything that is falling apart and in a state of decomposition (i.e. old buildings, rusty farm equipment, etc.) and I am especially drawn to architecture.
"Join me on Google+ (Maren Wryn) and on Flickr (OregonMJW) l am also an avid user of Twitter (OregonMJW) and have met so many professional and amazing amateur photographers and astrophotographers there! I would not be shooting now, but for them. ;D"
The more I attend - meetups, discussions, shoots - the better it gets. Very happy I found Salem Digital Photography Club!
